Long story short, we met at the beach a few days before our senior year of high school started. We went to rivalry high schools, so we didn't think we'd see much of each other after that day. I wasn't feeling well, so I went to take a walk by myself to the jetty. Without even being a quarter of a mile from where the car was parked, I heard someone jogging to me. When I turned around, I saw that it was Blake. He was coming to check on me and didn't want me walking that far by myself. We talked the whole way to the jetty and back, with a lot of flirting, and getting to know each other in between. The mutual friend that introduced us had a wiffle ball and bat in her car, so the people we were with played in the water. I was batting and hit a line drive over Blake's head; I believe that was the moment he knew... even though it took him nine years to propose. Anyway, the day ended and when I got home, I had a friend request on Facebook from Blake. We eventually exchanged phone numbers and the rest is history...
Blake asked me if I wanted to take the boat and go get brunch at a riverfront restaurant in our little beach town of New Smyrna. Well, if you know me at all mimosas are my favorite, so of course I was in! As we pulled up to the restaurant, Blake asked me if I could get the ropes out to tie up to the dock. (After being together for so long we had a routine.) I tied the rope to the bow and was turning around to hand him the rope for the stern, but he was already standing behind me. (This was not part of the routine!) He said we were not taking a ride to have brunch, but then pointed out all of our closest friends and family waiting for us on the dock. Through his tears and after some very kind words, he asked me to marry him. All I could do was nod yes! We can't wait to continue our beautiful life and celebrate our union with the most important people in our lives!
