The Love Story

Sydney and Freyttsie met while attending the University of San Francisco. Syd was a senior and Freyttsie, a sophomore. Seeking a resume boost and "free" housing, they both worked as Resident Advisors in the freshman dorms. Each floor had two Resident Advisors and on a very fateful day in the fall of 2018, Syd and Freyttsie were both assigned to the 6th floor of Hayes Healy Hall. Supervisors insisted the pairing was based on their applications and interviews, and not just the incessant amount of personality quizzes they had to do — think Buzzfeed's "Which Twilight character are you?" According to results, Syd and Freyttsie were supposed to make a good pair, but nobody anticipated it would be this good. For the rest of the school year, Syd and Freyttsie were coworkers — Freyttsie doing most of the actual Resident Advising and Syd just eager to graduate. It wasn't until the following fall when their friendship grew and a new relationship blossomed. Sydney and Freyttsie officially started dating in the winter of 2019. Since then, they've moved into a corner apartment in San Francisco with lots of windows. They've adopted two tuxedo cats from the PetSmart in Daly City and paid in cash. Ziggy is the good cat, and Smooch is the other one. Freyttsie got her bachelor's in kinesiology and later, her master's in education. She's in her fifth year of teaching second grade! Syd got her bachelor's in nursing and well, has been a nurse ever since. Together, they love the outdoors and spend many weekends hiking, camping, or at the river. They love good music, and have lost track of how many concerts they've been to. Syd still has a lot of work to do, but is teaching Freyttsie all about sports and who to root for -- the Niners, the Warriors, the Valkyries, and Bay FC in case you didn't know. In the spring of 2025, Sydney and Freyttsie got engaged in Yosemite National Park amongst towering trees, cascading waterfalls, and probably a bear or two. And in the summer of 2026, they'll be married. They promise not to invite any bears.
