Old Town Bluffton - Bluffton
Check out the quaint side of Bluffton, the city that Nick and Kristina once called home! Old Town Bluffton spans from the Promenade to the "bluff" on the May River. There are shops, art galleries, restaurants, a couple of park areas even an Inn! Stroll through the Promenade with some fresh Ben & Jerry's on a hot day, check out the local shops and art galleries along the way to the river, or maybe have lunch on the porch of The Cottage Cafe or stop for a drink at the Old Town Dispensary. If you're feeling fancy, dinner at the Bluffton Room is unforgettable and after dinner grab a drink next door at Calhoun Street Tavern.
Historic Downtown Savannah
Our venue on Hilton Head Island is about an hour away from Historic Downtown Savannah, Georgia. It was Georgia's first city, the original state capital, and Kristina's hometown! This city is hauntingly beautiful and a must visit while you're in the area! Sample some of Savannah's famous pralines at River Street Sweets while strolling down by the river, grab a frozen daiquiri TO-GO at Wet Willies (Savannah's open container laws make for an extra fun time), or grab a quick bite to eat at one of the many riverside restaurants such as Tubby's Tankhouse, Spanky's or Vic's on the River. Once voted America's Most Haunted City, their ghost tours are always a hit, you can even take a ride in a used hearse!
Palmetto Dunes Golf Courses
If golf brings you joy then you've come to the right island! Hilton Head is home to some world class golf courses, and 3 of them happen to be right next to our wedding venue! Check out the Palmetto Dunes Golf web page to see what you're missing (or soon to be not missing).
Soho South Cafe
If you're over in the Savannah area, a great place to stop in for lunch is Soho South Cafe! It also happens to be where Nick and Kristina had their first date! :) They are only open for dinner on Thursday and Friday nights so make sure to stop in before 3pm any other day.
Shelter Cove
Shelter Cove Towne Center is located right across the road from our venue. Here you will find a beautiful waterfront park, a perfect place to watch the sunset, as well as fun shops and restaurants. Check out the Travel section of our website to see more information about the Breeze shuttle that picks up in Shelter Cove and can take you over to Coligny Beach and Park Plaza. Also, if you're turning our celebration weekend into a longer vacation (which we hope you will) this is also where the nearest grocery store (Kroger) is located.
Vic's On the River
If you're in downtown Savannah and looking for a nice lunch or dinner restaurant, check out Vic's! Their menu is made up of more traditional southern food with a fine dining flair. The fried green tomatoes and fried shrimp are some of the best in Savannah! They also have a great Sunday Brunch if you're looking for a place across the river before your flight home!
Coligny Beach Park
Coligny Beach Park is one of Hilton Heads most popular places to visit. You can spend the day here on Hilton Head's beautiful beaches, or find some great shops and restaurants in Coligny Plaza. If a beach day is what you're set on this is a great place to start!
Burkes Beach
Burkes Beach is where a lot of the locals go to enjoy Hilton Head's beautiful beaches. Burkes is less crowded than Coligny during the busy season and is a great place for a quiet beach day or even just an evening walk. Also, if you happen to be staying at the Marriott (wedding venue) it's only 3 miles away!
Poseidon
A fantastic local restaurant located across the road from the wedding venue in Shelter Cove. They have great local seafood, including what Kristina says is the best Shrimp & Grits on the island, as well as lots of other great options. Their rooftop bar is open late (till 2am on Friday's and Saturday's) and with its close proximity to the wedding venue don't be surprised to see some fellow guests after the party winds down at the Marriott!
Skull Creek Boathouse
Great restaurant with lots of local seafood and other fantastic food. If you want some gluten free/Keto options their cauliflower crust flatbreads are truly fantastic! (Coming from a carb-aholic, who orders the cauliflower over the regular crust) They have indoor and outdoor seating and the view at sunset is stunning as the restaurant overlooks Skull Creek and the marsh. Perfect for getting a taste of the Low Country we call home!
Frankie Bones
Lobster Mac & Cheese......enough said. But really, this is a favorite on the island. They have some Italian style options as well as steak and seafood options, and of course the lobster mac & cheese (which will make you never want to leave).
