Josh and Riley technically met before they actually met, both attending the same Bible study for the first time, separately, and noticing each other without ever talking. A week later, thanks to some helpful friends, they were officially introduced and quickly realized they went to the same church and had already crossed paths. Riley noticed Josh’s smile right away, and Josh’s first thought was simply, “Wow, she’s really pretty.” As they got to know each other, Josh came to admire Riley’s caring heart, while Riley fell for Josh’s drive and determination. Somewhere along the way, specifically at a church event when Josh got hot and Riley casually offered to hold his sweatshirt, Josh realized she might be pretty special. Through fishing trips (Josh’s version of long distance), nursing school stress, and everyday life, Josh has been endlessly patient and supportive. Josh completely surprised Riley with a candle-lit, rose-filled proposal in the park, planned with help from her mom and sister, leaving her totally stunned and absolutely saying yes. They’re so grateful for a love rooted in faith, laughter, and lots of grace, and can’t wait to start their forever together.
