Late, but Right on TimeLate, but Right on Time

Thirty minutes late to the first date- right on time for forever.

Michael and Savannah’s story started the way many modern love stories do — with a swipe on Bumble — but what made it special was what connected them right away: their mutual love for wiener dogs and a shared sense of humor that not everyone quite understands. After matching, they quickly planned a first date at Melting Pot Social. Well… planned might be generous. Savannah rescheduled a time or two (or three), keeping Michael patiently on his toes. Finally, three days later, a time and place were officially set. True to form, Savannah arrived about thirty minutes late. Naturally. But the moment they sat down and started talking, none of that mattered. The conversation flowed effortlessly. The kind where you forget to check your phone. The kind where the sarcasm lands perfectly and the dry, witty jokes don’t need explaining. They both felt it almost instantly — this was different. This was easy. Date number two was an obvious decision. Not long after, they both realized what was becoming clear: they weren’t just having fun. They were building something real. Best friends. Teammates. The kind of connection that feels steady and exciting all at once. The kind that makes you think, “Oh. There you are.” Before officially making things “official,” Savannah did feel the need to clarify one important detail: Were they boyfriend and girlfriend… or just co-parents to their fish? (You’ll have to ask them about that conversation.) Thankfully, they settled on the former — though the fish is no longer with us. What started with a swipe and a shared love of dachshunds quickly turned into a partnership built on laughter, loyalty, and a humor that only the right person truly gets. From Bumble to best friends to soul mates, their story has felt natural from the very beginning — even if it started thirty minutes late. Oh, and we can't forget about their sweet baby, Ollie!
