We live in Texas, but with most of Jordan’s family in Illinois and most of Tygerlily’s in Ohio, Indiana was the perfect middle ground. It allows both sides of the family to travel a bit less, and it’s much easier for us to come up to the Midwest than ask everyone to head down to Texas.
Please let us know your plans by August 1st. We hope to get to celebrate with you!
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, as are suits and cocktail dresses. Most of all, we want you to feel comfortable and confident. As a courtesy, we kindly ask that guests avoid wearing white. Men, regardless of religious beliefs, may choose to cover their heads with a kippah during the ceremony as a respectful gesture towards the Jewish traditions. A kippah, or yarmulke, is a Jewish head covering traditionally worn by men during ceremony and prayer. There will be kippot provided for guests to wear and take home as a memento if they wish ♡
Unfortunately, due to budget and space limitations, we simply can’t afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Therefore, we respectfully ask our guests to please not bring plus ones, unless they are specifically included on the RSVP card in your formal invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!
Yes! The venue has 2 parking areas for guests. There is limited parking in the gravel lot directly behind the building, as well as parking in the grass lot 15 feet north of the venue. A parking attendant will also be available to help!
The Hampton Inn will be providing a shuttle service for taking guests to and from the venue! For more information, check out the 'Travel' page.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM, so we kindly ask guests to arrive no later than 4:45 PM to allow time for parking, seating, and getting settled. If you’re taking the hotel shuttle or an Uber/Lyft, please plan for potential delays and aim to arrive between 4:30 and 4:45 PM to ensure you don’t miss the start of the ceremony.
The short answer is: a lot of fun! The ceremony will include a few short blessings, a few sips of wine, a ring exchange, a few more blessings, and stepping on a glass. Then, on to the party! The reception will include dinner, toasts, dancing, cake, and all of the usual things you associate with weddings. One thing to look forward to is the Hora, where everyone dances in a circle and the bride and groom are lifted into the air on chairs! There will also be programs provided explaining the order of operations, for anyone who isn't familiar with the process ♡
