Love Wins

Once upon a time, a friend from the internet asked Sam why they were single. Sam said it was because, well, where on earth are the queer yet mature 30-something year olds? Well the mutual friend posted that exact question on a Facebook group. Lauren, new to the group, and who had never posted before, replied because, she also wanted to know where are these magical unicorns?! Sam saw the post and thought "Wow, that's a cutie!" and slid into Lauren's DM's. They started talking and hit it off instantly. A week later, Lauren asked Sam if they wanted to go grab a bite to eat. The day came and Lauren was all nerves. Sam invited Lauren to local eatery and when Lauren decided she wasn't ready for the date to end they went to play board games at Pawn and Pint and the rest is history! These days we still enjoy going out to eat and playing board games (like Wingspan!) and spend our free time playing with Avery and Riley. We look forward to many more adventures in the future!

While 2020 was a trying time for all of us, Sam took an inordinate amount of care and time to plan the perfect proposal. Sam went back and forth to Loose Park several times before they proposed to pick out the perfect spot, to make sure the roses would be in bloom in the rose garden, and to see if everything would be just as perfect as they hoped. On the day of, Sam's energy was electric. Sam and Lauren drove around town until they finally arrived at Loose park. Sam, Lauren, and Riley all walked down to the rose garden where Sam got down on one knee and asked Lauren to spend the rest of their life with them! After a big fat "YES!" Sam's sister, Lauren, Lauren's Sister, Jenny, and Avery all popped out behind the bushes to congratulate the newly engaged couple! Sam and Lauren meandered through the park and were met by both sides of the family saying hello and giving warm wishes and love. Sam knocked this one out of the park!
