Club Med has optional "dress codes" each night. Many guests will participate and many will not. Shorts or pants with a short sleeve button down top is common for men. Sundresses are common for women. The average temperature for November is high of 84 and low of 70. Evening Dress Suggestions: Monday - Mexican Colors Tuesday - Black & Glow/bright color Wednesday - Floral Print Thursday - All White Friday - Elegant Wedding Saturday - Elegant - Jacket Optional Sunday - Denim You don't have to do all aspects of the dress code. For Mexican night, you could just do all red. Black & Glow, you can do all black with pop of color in your jewelry. It does make packing easier!
While tipping is not required at Club Med, we leave $5 a day on the bed for the maid and tip the bartenders and waiters a few dollars here and there. This is optional and not expected, but very much appreciated by the Mexican staff. Change is difficult to get on property. We bring $1s and $5's with us. There is no need to exchange money.
You will hear Chef of the Village, G.O., G.E., and G.M. a lot. Chef of the Village - Olivier is the Chef of the Village for this season. He is the General Manager and you will see him throughout the village during your stay. He is French and has worked in villages all around the world. G.O. - The G.O.'s are the "Gentle Organizers". They are our camp counselors/instructors with trapeze, yoga, tennis, sailing, archery, shows, fitness classes, water aerobics and all the games and activities. They come from all around the world and live in the village with us. If you see a G.O. at the bar, offer to buy them a drink. (Yes, it is free). G.E. - Gentle Employees are local residents of Cancun. They are waiters, house cleaning, bartenders and gardeners. They go home in the evenings, after their shift is done. G.M. - YOU! Gentle Members are the customers of the village.
Club Med Cancún will follow the European Union’s guidelines, as well as recommendations from the CDC, by requiring all travelers aged 11 or older to show proof of complete vaccination upon arrival or a negative PCR or Antigen test, taken within 72 hours prior to arrival. Should guests be unable to meet these requirements, a rapid Antigen test will be administered on-site upon arrival at no additional cost. Important Information when flying back to the U.S. In an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that as of January 26, 2021, international air travelers, including U.S. citizens, aged 2 years or older, will be required to provide a negative NAAT (PCR) or antigen test result prior to boarding an international flight returning to the United States. In order to seamlessly facilitate this process in-resort, Club Med is offering antigen testing at no additional charge (providing results within the same day^).
When you arrive to Cancun Airport, you are going to go through immigrations, then you will be guided to the baggage claim area. Once you have picked up your luggage you will be directed to customs. After you have cleared customs, please walk OUTSIDE the terminal - there will a large group of "tourist advisors" (timeshare salesmen) right before you exit.. Just keep walking. Look for someone holding a CLUB MED sign when you are OUTSIDE the terminal. (They are not allowed inside the terminal). They will have your name and are monitoring flights.
