Ethan and Eliana met at Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, DE through their youth group. Meeting every Monday night, they both knew of each other through the different youth group events and trips. However, it wasn't until the Michigan missions trip in 2021 where Ethan and Eliana became friends. The friendship sparked on the missions trip and months after, in November of 2021, the two began officially dating.

After dating for approximately one and a half years, Ethan began planning the proposal in June of 2023. The two went on a date that included having a picnic while sitting on the tailgate of the truck, eating a homemade lunch with all of Eliana's favorite snacks and drinks. After the picnic, Ethan and Eliana made their way onto the dock on Collins pond where they both slow danced to "Beyond" by Luke Combs and Leon Bridges. Nearing the end of the song, Ethan proposed and Eliana said YES! We're so excited to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter in our lives with you :)
