Not in the traditional sense! The Game Farm closed to the public in 2006 and has since been reimagined as a boutique inn and private event space. It's full of vintage charm and history - but yes, many parts of the grounds are still abandoned with original structures left to nature. That's all part of the fun!
The Old Game Farm is rustic and off the beaten path. Some roads are winding or unpaved, so please give yourself extra travel time if you are unfamiliar with the area. Uber and Lyft are very limited, so we recommend carpooling or designating a driver.
Absolutely! One of the coolest parts of this venue is that guests can wander through the old zoo paths, ruins, and exhibits. It's like a time capsule. But please, be smart! Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and only enter an available structure if you feel safe to do so!
The Game Farm has modern, clean restrooms available for guests during the event. We promise, you won't be peeing in a tiger cage!
It will be outdoors, weather permitting! There will be a tent for the reception, and the ceremony will take place on the grounds.
There is plenty of on-site parking, and signs that will guide you from the main road to the parking area. Just note that the parking area is gravel and grass, not paved.
We love your little ones, but due to the nature of the venue, we've chosen to keep our celebration mostly kid free. We are making a small exception for our niece and nephew and a couple of young travelers joining their parents from afar. We hope you understand and can use this as a chance for a fun adult day out!
Unfortunately, no. While we love animals, the venue does not allow pets for safety and liability reasons.
It's a little spotty depending on your carrier. Take it as a sign to unplug and enjoy the scenery (and each other)! During the reception, which will be close to the Main House on the property, service should be better. And we encourage everyone to take pictures and share them!! We will have more information coming about a dedicated space to send pictures.
Think wedding in the woods meets vintage zoo. Dressy, casual, festive, comfortable, whatever suits you! You'll be on your feet and possibly walking some uneven paths, so leave the stilettos at home!
Yes! We've got you covered with delicious eats! We will also have some beer and wine, and a few select spirits (thanks Mom!). Feel free to bring your own favorite beverage if there is something specific you like.
If you know us, then you already know this is a yes! There will be designated smoking areas for cannabis. We ask that anyone who is enjoying the selection to please be respectful of others, especially around children or anyone who may be sensitive to smoke or smell, and remain in the designated areas while partaking. We want everyone to feel comfortable, whether they are lighting up or not!
