Why can only Catholics receive Holy Communion?

In the Catholic Church, Communion is a sacrament that truly is the body and blood of Christ, and it’s a practice deeply tied to the Catholic faith. Only Catholics in a state of grace (meaning they’ve received the sacrament of Reconciliation if needed) are invited to receive Communion, as it represents full participation in the faith. If you’re not Catholic, we kindly ask that you refrain from receiving Communion. However, you are welcome to join us in prayer or simply remain seated during this part of the ceremony.
