We met during undergrad at Stanford, spring quarter 2017, when we were randomly assigned to the same project group! Vikul was reserved, while Swathi was, well, not. But, she continued to be warm as she is, and over time, Vikul found himself opening up to her. Vikul was gentle and patient in nature, while Swathi was playful and joking, and we complemented each other well. After the year ended, we continued our college careers on the same path - classes, psets, and office hours in Huang, and late night food at Arrillaga. The qualities that we liked about each other stood the test of time, so years after we met, when Vikul stood at Swathi’s dorm room door with her favorite halwa, she felt good about telling him yes! We are grateful for our journey together and cherish our relationship, a slow love that feels calm and unwavering, one that begins and ends with friendship.

On a typical weekend, you can catch us spending time with our friends and exploring nature, playing with our fluffy dog Moose, or just doing nothing together with a cup of coffee and some fresh air. Swathi will probably want to watch reality tv together on Netflix, while Vikul complains but agrees just to make her happy - how sweet! We look forward to doing the Sunday morning crosswords, traveling the world together (in classic Vikul fashion, our trips have been planned and prioritized for the next ten years), and helping each other reach our goals - centenarian olympics, here we come!
