Our story began in Madison, New Jersey on a small university campus just a stone’s throw away from our hometowns. We had met a few times through some mutual friends and a fast friendship began – built on the familiarity of home, the love of sports and the passion for good food. We couldn’t believe that we had never crossed paths before Fairleigh Dickinson, since Matt played football at Hunterdon Central, a rival high school to Sara’s Bridgewater Raritan. It was only a matter of time before friendship grew to love, and in May 2013 we made it official and began dating.

Seven years, two bachelor’s degrees, and one home in The Hills (complete with a cute little orange cat!) later, Matt decided it was finally time to ask Sara to marry him. He was up for the challenge of planning the best surprise, even though she was convinced he’d never get it past her. Matt knew that on Memorial Day weekend Sara would be too focused on the sun and the sand at the Jersey Shore and would not be suspecting a proposal. So, as Matt, Sara and friends were celebrating the kickoff of summer at Sara’s favorite spot – 9th Ave Pier in Belmar – he pulled her aside and got down on one knee! Friends, the patrons at restaurant and the boats passing by cheered us on, and it proved to be an unforgettable moment. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
