Katie and Jake’s story began their freshman year of high school, when they were just 14 years old. What started as a friendship quickly grew into something more—especially after Katie asked Jake to the Winter Formal. A couple of years later, during their junior year, they officially started dating, and their first date took them to Laguna Beach for gelato by the ocean. From there, their love continued to grow. Even when college took them to different campuses a few hours apart, they never let the distance get in the way. They made countless weekend trips, studied for exams over the phone, and built a relationship that grew stronger with every mile between them. Over the past eight years, they’ve shared countless adventures together, from simple everyday joys to traveling the world. One of their favorite things to do as a couple is explore new places—and it was on one of those trips, in the south of France, where Jake asked Katie to marry him. On a boat in the middle of a lake, surrounded by sunshine, wine, cheese, and laughter, he popped the question. Now, after years of growing up side by side, they can’t wait to begin this next chapter as husband and wife—celebrating not only the journey that brought them here, but the many adventures still to come.
