FAQs

Question

Are my children invited?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will be adults only, unless otherwise specified on your invitation. We hope that with advanced notice you are able to plan accordingly and enjoy a night out! Thank you for understanding.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by October 1st. If we do not receive an RSVP by this date, you will automatically be marked as not attending.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire. Girls, wear a dress (any length), jumpsuit, or whatever you can dance in! Guys, wear dress pants/khakis, dress shirt, tie optional. Please refrain from wearing denim and any shades of white/cream.

Question

I am driving, where should I park?

Answer

There is street parking available surrounding the Tinsmith as well as a City of Madison Parking Garage on the corner of Main Street and S Livingston Street. The average rate is $1.20 cents per hour with a max of $8.00, and overnight parking is available. Handicap spots are available in this lot, on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is also a public parking garage on the corner of Main Street and Paterson. If you are staying at The Moxy, immediately next door to the Tinsmith, valet parking is available. If you are staying at Hotel Indigo, just one block away from the Tinsmith, both valet and self-park options are available.

Question

Where should I be dropped off if I am not driving?

Answer

Shuttles and ride shares can be dropped off at the front entrance of The Tinsmith in the loading zone. Guests with mobility issues or those that would prefer not to walk from the parking garage / hotel can also be dropped off in the loading zone. Please note that all vehicles must be moved from the loading zone after guests have been escorted inside. The nearest handicap accessible parking stalls are in the City of Madison Parking Garage at the corner of Main Street and S Livingston Street, available on a first come first serve basis.

Question

I am from out of town, which airport should I fly into?

Answer

There are a few options! Madison Airport (MSN) is the closest, but due to its small size, they do not offer direct flights to all cities. Other options include the Milwaukee Airport (MKE), about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive to Madison, and O’Hare Airport (ORD) or Midway Airport (MDW) in Chicago, about a 2 hour drive to Madison.

Question

When should I arrive on the day of the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 3:00 pm, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early at 2:45 pm. Late arrivals will not be allowed into the ceremony.
