We’re getting married!

On the first day of the Fall 2022 semester, Joel and Elizabeth walked into the same communication class—the only class they ever had together at UD. By pure chance, they ended up sitting next to each other. At first, they were simply classmates—making small talk at the beginning of class, teaming up for partner discussions, and collaborating on worksheets. Eventually, Joel made a bold move: he sent an email to Elizabeth, asking if she wanted to study. She said yes—right away. Studying turned into long conversations, movie nights, joyrides in Joel’s Miata, and many taste tests of local pizza spots (they can recommend a few if you’re in the mood for a slice). As their relationship deepened, so did their adventures. From hiking volcanoes in Guatemala to surfing in Rio de Janeiro, traveling became something they both cherished—a way to make memories, explore the world, and continue growing their love for each other. Now, with joy and gratitude, they’re ready to take the next step—to commit their lives to one another under the Lord, and to celebrate that promise surrounded by the people who’ve supported them along the way. They can’t wait to laugh, dance, and cry happy tears with you as they say “I do.”
