For those of you who don't know, we began our story as a long distance relationship while dating and during our engagement. We talked every day from New Years Eve 2017/2018 through texts, phone calls, FaceTime, emails, and our touch lamps. Technology has been a lifesaver! Road trips were also common as we took turns making the nearly 3 hour drive over state lines, sometimes meeting in the middle with friends near Baltimore, D.C., and Frederick. It's difficult to put into words just how overjoyed we are at finally closing the distance permanently - going from driving over 21,000 miles to be with each other to putting our keys on the same hook. We are so grateful for the support we have received from our families, friends, and coworkers as we embarked on this journey together, and cannot wait to celebrate the official finale to our long distance relationship in smashing fashion!
6.3.2017 Bozman, MD - We first met celebrating a college graduation, though in 2015 we were at the same party in Joe's apartment at The Mount and never met. Bailey thought Joe was cute and funny (even with the curly 'fro), while Joe was apparently hooked from the beginning. No serious moves were made, but Amy Schisler called a future connection right then and there. 12.31.2017 Washington, D.C. - NYE Celebration in the city with friends. This was planned by Rebecca for our local friend group - shorter travel on a busy holiday. Joe originally wasn't going, being that he lived in PA, but then he found out that Bailey would be there. One event ticket and a drive later, he was there in his red suit jacket and moves were made. Lots of dancing, laughs, and a kiss at midnight. 1.27.2018 Reading, PA - After reconnecting and nonstop talking since NYE, Bailey traveled to PA to spend the weekend with Joe. He says he was in awe of Bailey's willingness to drive up last minute and somehow managed to smooth talk himself into a relationship. There were bookstores, cats, covered bridges, pretzels, and secret notes involved! 2.23.2020 Linthicum, MD - The Engagement - In the late (or early, depending on how you look at it) hours, Joe got down on one knee in the dark with Bailey shivering from the cold and surprise. He asked the big question and the answer was "Yes!"
