August 27, 2011 was the night everyone was looking forward to! It was my senior year, Jakes junior year. When we got to the Back To School dance, we were all disappointed. The seniors were mad due to the lack of music, lights being turned on, and the "save room for the Holy Spirit" rule. The senior class ditched out and brought the party back to my house.. That lasted up until my parents came home to about 200 shoes in the hallway. At party number 2, I got a call from Brenyn- She ran out of the dance too! No surprise there. She said, "Hey Broo! I am with Jake and Mitchell right now! We all want to hang out. Where you at?" No way was I hanging out with Jake. I had no intentions of seeing or even speaking to Jake that night- our kiss in our early teens didn't end on the best note! Brenyn said, "Come on Broo. It will be fun. Just give him a chance." Of course, I gave in. The three of them came to the after party and sat across from me at the fire pit. I didn't want to give him the time of day, but I couldn't help myself! He was everything I ever wanted- he was perfect. But I was still a hard head about it and brushed it off and acted like he didn't exist. That didn't work for long! Brenyn and I (Jake and Mitchell) decided to head out and go to party number 3. We went outside to leave and I took off full sprint ahead and yelled "SHOTGUN!" What do you know...here comes Jake, full speed ahead. Obviously, he beat me to the car and in the front passenger seat he sat. He looked at me and said, "Come on, sit on my lap!" with a few taps on his leg. I looked at him, smiled, and thought, you've got to be kidding me! Babe, you are lucky that smile worked- you had me totally wrapped. I gave him a big smile and hopped right in. He casually rested his hand on my leg. Right then and there I about fell out of the car. That is when I knew, he was the one that I was going to spend the rest of my life with.
