It all began on a chilly January 13th, 2024, in West Seattle, Alki Beach. There was a cozy restaurant with a beautiful view of downtown — a place Svitlana had passed by many times, always thinking how lovely it would be to sit there one day. When Jason invited her there, it felt like fate. What started as a casual dinner turned into hours of laughter, great conversation, and an instant connection. After the first date, Jason sent a polite message saying it would be great to meet again — but if Svitlana was busy, that was fine too, as he was “very busy” himself. Svitlana read it and thought, “Damn, who is this guy? I’ll definitely meet him — even if I have to show him that I’m busy too! But he’ll have to make time for me in that busy schedule of his.” Their next outing took them to a museum, where they spent what felt like ages just looking for a parking spot — and somehow had the best time doing it. Later, Svitlana invited Jason to go hiking. Even though he wasn’t a fan of trails, he was definitely a fan of her — so he joined. That hike led to many more adventures together, including summer off-road trips in their Jeep (even if Svitlana still refuses to call it “vintage”). They’re different in many ways, yet they fit together perfectly — able to laugh endlessly, talk about everything (even black holes in universe!), and find joy in every moment. The cherry on top came when they registered their marriage — almost forgetting to confirm it, but making it just in time to receive their certificate. Now, as husband and wife, they’re excited to celebrate this new beginning surrounded by friends, laughter, and love.
