James and Violet first crossed paths many moons ago at the quad of Bishop Amat Memorial High School, circa 2007. Life took them in different directions for a while, but fate had other plans. In the summer of 2019, they reconnected and rekindled their friendship. Their conversations began online, where memories were revisited and new stories began. James sent roses to Violet’s workplace as a sweet gesture that did not go unnoticed. During this time, Violet had became a pillar of support for James as he grieved the loss of his beloved brother. Out of heartache, something beautiful began to blossom. As the world slowed during the pandemic, their bond only grew stronger. From quiet days together to spontaneous trips to Catalina Island, countless beachside adventures, and evenings on his boat, James and Violet became inseparable. Since then, they’ve been growing side by side through every wave, every sunrise, and every chapter that has followed.

On November 2, 2024, James proposed in the most fitting place by the ocean, with the waves as their witness. Despite the unpredictable rainy day, he asked Violet to be his forever. The celebration did not stop there. James had planned a romantic dinner with a stunning view, where they toasted to their future together. The surprises kept coming, after the meal, he led Violet to one of their favorite local spots in Whittier. Their closest family and friends were gathered at a cozy brewery they both love ready to celebrate the newly engaged couple. It was a night filled with joy, love, and laughter one they’ll always remember.
