We chose to rent out a home to host our reception. Due to this, we will be setting up the night before. Please feel free to drop by anytime to say hello and spend some time with us. Whether you want to come by to ask questions, pray with the couple, or just say hello, we encourage you to come on by! We will be having light bites and a good time!
Night before = casual, outdoor clothing and shoes. No colors requested, just whatever you feel comfortable in. Ceremony = Formal or semi formal. Earth tones requested (dusty greens, blues, browns, etc) Men: Nice button up tucked into business casual pants / suit with slacks / etc. Women: Summer dress, formal dress, etc Reception: Casual, most anything welcomed. Modest family-friendly bathing suits welcomed. You can stay in your ceremony clothing or change into something more fit to wear outside. Please consider changing out of heels, as our games will be held on grass. Additionally, it will be hot outside so feel free to dress accordingly. Both food and games will be held indoor and outdoor the home.
Please arrive no earlier than 10:45 AM and no later than 11:20 AM. Please remember the chapel is quite far from any nearby cities, and the mountain itself takes a bit of time to get up. Please add about 5-10 minutes onto your GPS due to the windy mountain. If you are arriving earlier than expected, please feel free to visit the coffee shop/ viewing areas that are partway up the mountain.
We ask guests to only bring the listed amount of people on their invitation. We are wanting to keep our wedding small, and have only invited family / friends-like-family. The home we are having for our reception only allows a certain amount of people, and we have had to make some difficult decisions as to who is invited due to this headcount limit. If we left out a guest on the invite list, please contact one of us!
Everything pertaining to our wedding will be on this website. We put all information on here for guests to refer back to when the wedding gets closer. If you have any questions or feel we left out some important information, please feel free to contact one of us at any time!
We kindly ask all guests to leave their phones in their cars, or shut them entirely off during the ceremony. We will be video recording the entire ceremony and would love to send you many pictures and videos after our wedding. As beautiful as the chapel is, we want to honor our guests by encouraging a time to be present and still during this beautiful time. We encourage to take pictures before the ceremony begins.
We will be having southern-style food and desserts. We will be having non-alcoholic drinks. Please contact any of us if you have dietary restrictions so we can make a special plate for you :)
There is plenty of parking at both the chapel and reception. We do recommend carpooling, as the ride up the mountain is long and quite twisty.
The chapel is about 1.5 hours away from the reception home. Because of this, we will be having a midday break for anyone to get a nap, change, eat lunch, or simply explore the city.
Our reception will look more like a backyard family reunion. Games, pool available, family time, and no assigned seating or schedules. Please feel free to bring your favorite games and comfiest clothes. Since it is August, we would love for anyone and everyone to use the saltwater pool.
The best city we recommend to stay in is Greenville, South Carolina. It is a good midpoint between the reception and chapel. Additionally, Greenville is a beautiful city with a wonderful downtown shopping area and waterfall.
We will not be serving any alcohol at our wedding or reception.
Please feel free to contact the couple or leave a note so that we can answer all of your questions!
Any and all changes or updates will be right here on our website. We will be adding more FAQs as questions are asked, or updated instructions as the time gets closer. We hope the website can answer all questions and diminish the stress of timing and planning!
