Tiki Inspo

Tiki is more than a hangover from the midcentury! It's a collision of American and Hawaiian island traditions and it's not always in good taste but if we're mindful about it, it shouldn't feel colonialist.
We hope you find a way to make it fun for you and pick something out you'll feel festive in; vintage shops across the country have lots of options and the internet is a trove of authentic and knockoff versions of Aloha! The mood board below (yes, sorry, you'll need to copy and paste the link) is intended to get you started.
Remember:
1. That pattern isn't loud, it's the spirit of the islands!
2. Embrace floral. Or animal print. Or oceanic.
3. If you feel like a senior citizen about to go on a cruise to the tropics, you're doing it right.
4. Polyester, while authentic, isn't super breathable. Pick something you can move in. Silk is nice and also the real deal!
5. In the end, if you completely punt on this, we still love you, we just might leave you out of our pictures. Kidding!
