Suzi and Nick TECHNICALLY first met at the beginning of PT school. Carolyn had been teasing Suzi (like all big sisters do) that she was going to meet someone in grad school, but since there were only 40 students per class Suzi was skeptical. She realized that if she DID start dating someone and they broke up they would be impossible to avoid... Meanwhile, Nick and all of the boys in the PT class had promised each other not to date/pursue anyone in their class so as not to be "that guy". Needless to say, the first time they met, Suzi brushed Nick off, and Nick was focused on developing his PT school bromance with Kyle. Very romantic.

Over the course of the first year of grad school, Nick and Suzi got to know each other. This mostly consisted of Suzi talking to Nick about what was happening on The Bachelor, and Nick convincing Suzi that he, too, shared an interest in rock climbing...... They bonded over a love of cooking, avoiding studying while watching Chopped, and finding new restaurants and breweries to try. They officially started dating on June 22, all because Suzi asked to keep a toothbrush in Nick's apartment. Dental hygiene for the win!

For their fourth anniversary, Suzi and Nick planned a weekend trip to Madison and dinner at Cento where they had celebrated their first anniversary (and where Suzi suspected Nick would propose). With some time to kill before dinner they headed to the Memorial Union. Under the pretense of taking a selfie to document the weekend, Nick got down on one knee, retrieved the beautiful custom ring he had designed from his Giannis Antetokounmpo socks, and popped the question.
