A Boy musters the courage to tell a girl “So vibrant, I dig it” and a Girl takes a chance to respond. The year was 2019, and life was good. They went to the movies, they went to the Barcades. On some weekends they would traverse different cities and towns in search of pokemon. Then Covid hit and things got tough. Everything closed, date nights soon turned into quarantine nights. Over the next 5 years they bonded and grew together, they learned what each other liked, and disliked. Date nights turned into Animal Crossing Island visits: She would show off her new villagers, and things she found for her museum. He would show off his new room in his island home, they would discuss and plot out how to make the most bells possible by using the internet to find friends to sell turnips. The year flew by and things continued to get better and better. Quarantine ended, they went on a trip to Bar Harbor, and eventually took in a second cat. Discussions begin to move from the near future to a more permanent distant future. They bought a new home together, and she found a ring designer she liked. He bought her the ring she designed but she was very clear that she didn’t actually want to see this ring until he proposed, and so he started to plan. On his birthday he gathered all of their friends, and had them dress like Pikachu and he asked the girl “Wanna go catch some pokemon?” little did she know she was in for a surprise. They walked to the gazebo and were soon surrounded by giant pokemon. He knelt and popped the question, she cried and said “I guess”.
