Having just moved to Stillwater, OK, Julia joined her brother at a club event to meet new friends. She met a group of friends which Levi was apart, and slowly became a part of the group. Julia and Levi became close friends due to similar interests such as OSU sports, video games, board games, as well as, pursuing higher education. After being inseparable for 7 months, Levi asked Julia on a date using a “create your own quiz” website where he generated a quiz of a bunch of random questions about topics Julia had mentioned about her classes with the last question asking her on a date. Since that day, Julia and Levi have had many adventures together.

When deciding on how best to propose to Julia, Levi reflected on something the two of them loved to do together… escape rooms. They have done escape rooms all over Texas and Oklahoma, as well as Idaho and Colorado. So Levi worked with Narrow Escape, a venue in Julia’s hometown. Given some of the in-game hints, He was able to integrate his own writing to the room, and hide the custom hint with a skeleton key to the “ring” box in the room. Julia’s parents were asked to help with the event so that event could be video taped. As the room was nearing completion, Julia read the special hint and located the box in the room. When she opened the box, she looked at Levi in confusion, as she had no idea what was going on. Levi stumbled through some words about building a life of adventure before dropping on one knee and asking the important question: “Will you marry me?”. Julia’s response what’s quick “Yes” followed by “I’m so confused”, which will be a forever memorable moment the couple will cherish for the rest of their lives.
