Will Maddy take Kyle's last name? Will Kyle take Maddy's?

Answer

We have both chosen to keep our last names. Maddy will remain Maddy Sutka, and Kyle will remain Kyle Griswold.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate plus ones at our wedding unless specifically indicated on your envelope. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail to semi-formal. This means suits, gowns, and cocktail dresses are acceptable. The ceremony and reception will be outdoors in the California summer. Light fabrics are recommended! Please avoid whites, off-whites, and creams. If you choose to wear a suit, please avoid green.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Kindly RSVP by June 6, 2025. If you cannot attend, we will miss you, and appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. Those that do not RSVP by June 6, 2025 - we are so sorry you cannot make it! If you miss this date, we will be unable to accommodate your presence at the wedding, as we will send final head counts to vendors shortly after this deadline.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, we will have an open bar with beers, wines, signature cocktails, and liquor options. Please drink responsibly, and if you do choose to drink, make sure you have a safe ride after the event to your accommodations. We will be tipping out the waitstaff and bartenders at the end of the night, so no need to worry about bringing cash to tip.

Question

When do I need to be at the venue?

Answer

Please arrive at 4:30pm to enjoy lemonade and water before the ceremony, and to have plenty of time to find a seat. The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00pm. We cannot let anyone in once the ceremony has started. If you arrive after 5:00pm, please wait outside until the ceremony has ended, and then you are welcome to come inside for cocktail hour at 5:30pm. We thank you for your understanding and punctuality!

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

There is plenty of street parking and city-owned lots in San Juan Capistrano. If you are looking for a place to keep your car overnight while you enjoy the open bar, you can find overnight parking at 26732 Verdugo Street.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please visit the travel section for four options close to the venue at varying price points. You may also opt to search for an Airbnb or stay in either San Diego or Los Angeles and take the train day-of.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

If your child is invited, their name will be listed in the RSVP section and your invite will be addressed to the family. Otherwise, we kindly ask that children be left at home.

Question

Can we request music through the DJ?

Answer

Our DJ has a playlist to work off of and does not accept same-day song requests.

What do I do if I can't make it?

Answer

We will miss seeing you! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "Not Attending" so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What if I don't RSVP on time?

Answer

Unfortunately, if we don't hear from you by the RSVP deadline we will have to mark you as not attending as final numbers will have been sent to the venue and catering.

Question

Is there anything else I should know?

Answer

In a world where trans and queer lives are constantly under threat, choosing love—boldly, unapologetically—is an act of protest. Our marriage isn’t just about us; it’s a celebration of resilience, joy, and the right to exist freely. We ask that all our guests come not only excited to celebrate our love but also in full support of queer and trans people everywhere. This is a space for love, affirmation, and community—let’s make it a beautiful one together.
