How We Met

12.17.15

Ryan and Susu first met while working together at The Belmond Charleston Place Hotel in downtown Charleston, SC. They both had secret crushes on each other, but were both very professional at work so played it cool. After multiple lunch breaks together in the work cafeteria, tag teaming multiple arrival experiences for guests, and one work holiday party later, the truth came out and the rest was history.

Proposal

12.12.21

Ryan planned a Sunday brunch at Tavern and Table on Shem Creek. His brother, Eric, was suppose to come, but 'got called into work.' Susu and Ryan went anyways and enjoyed brunch and then decided to walk Pitt Street Bridge after because it was a 70 degree day in December. Pitt Street Bridge has become a significant location for the two of them because they have had some deep life talks on that bridge. As they were discussing those memories on the bridge, Ryan got down on one knee and said, "well its about to get deeper, will you marry me?" Susu said yes, they hugged, they cried, and they had a secret photo shoot to capture the moment. Ryan then said he needed a drink after all the build up and suggested celebrating and calling our families. They drove to Sullivans Island and walked into Poes Tavern where Susu was surprised by her friends and family who traveled near and far to celebrate. It was a really happy and sweet day.
