Sarah's favorite place to run when she and Jake are in Greensboro. The Military Park has a 2-mile paved loop for pedestrians that doubles as an audio driving tour. The loop is nestled in a nice wooded area and features plaques and statues telling the story of a local Revolutionary War battle. Also connects to the Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway, Greensboro Country Park, and the Greensboro Science Center.
A great greenway to walk, run, or bike. We suggest you park at Bur-Mil park for the best views while visiting.
The museum is located in the former Woolsworth's, the site of the Greensboro sit-ins beginning in 1960, where four Black students from North Carolina A&T University sat a segregated whites-only lunch counter and refused to leave until they were served. It is a National Historic Landmark and is a part of the Greensboro Historic District. Jake and Sarah highly recommend visiting if you have the time; it gives an unfiltered look at the Civil Rights movement in the United States.
