A saltwater boy, a freshwater girl, can I make it anymore obvious? Vito & Susie are two beings whose souls simply feel more complete when water is near. Vito grew up in Puglia, the sundrenched "heel" of Italy's boot, where from birth he basked in the bright rays of the Apulian sun, played on the rocky coast line with his gang of wild cousins and very patient sister, and swam in the salty turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea. Susie was born in Holland, MI in a house just a few meters off of the shores of Lake Macatawa. Throughout her childhood she was always swimming in, boating on, or ice skating on top of some lake throughout the Great Lakes State. Her favorite days are on the sandy shores of Lake Michigan, playing badminton in the yard at the lakehouse up north, or snuggling up by a bonfire with her dogs at her mom and Neil's house on the water in Oxford. After over five years as couple, an important element remains: water. They fell in love on trips to the Tuscan coast and Vito proudly showed Susie his world of crudo, secret beaches, and beachside Calafuria Rosé in Southern Italy, and Susie showed Vito the beauty of long sunset walks to the lighthouse in Ludington, lakeside bonfires and some good ol' midwestern watersports (videos upon request). Vito asked Susie to marry him on the shores of Lake Michigan last summer in Traverse City and proceeded to don a "Lake Michigan: Unsalted" sweatshirt for the remainder of the week (of course to show off his Michigan pride in front of his new fiance, but mostly because our little Southern Italian was COLD!) We could never choose just the salty seas or freshwater lakes because our hearts and the people we love are in both places, and for this, we as a couple will forever be #SemiSalted. Vito e Susie sono due esseri la cui anima si sente semplicemente più completa quando l'acqua è vicina. Vito è cresciuto in Puglia, il soleggiato "tacco" dello stivale italiano, dove fin dalla nascita si è crogiolato ai raggi luminosi del sole pugliese, ha giocato sulla costa rocciosa con la sua banda di cugini selvaggi e la sua pazientissima sorella, e ha nuotato nelle acque salate e turchesi del Mare Adriatico. Susie è nata a Holland, MI, in una casa a pochi metri dalle rive del lago Macatawa. Le sue giornate preferite sono sulle rive sabbiose del lago Michigan, giocando a badminton nel cortile della casa sul lago a nord, o accoccolandosi accanto a un falò con i suoi cani nella casa di sua madre e Neil sull'acqua a Oxford. Dopo oltre cinque anni di coppia, un elemento importante rimane: l'acqua. Si sono innamorati durante i viaggi sulla costa toscana e Vito ha mostrato con orgoglio a Susie il suo mondo di crudo, spiagge segrete e Calafuria Rosé in riva al mare nel Sud Italia, mentre Susie ha mostrato a Vito la bellezza delle lunghe passeggiate al tramonto fino al faro di Ludington, i falò in riva al lago e alcuni sport acquatici del midwest (video su richiesta). Vito ha chiesto a Susie di sposarlo sulle rive del lago Michigan la scorsa estate a Traverse City e ha indossato una felpa "Lake Michigan: Unsalted" per il resto della settimana (ovviamente per mostrare il suo orgoglio del Michigan di fronte alla sua nuova fidanzata, ma soprattutto perché il nostro piccolo italiano del sud era freddo). Non potremmo mai scegliere solo il mare salato o i laghi d'acqua dolce, perché i nostri cuori e le persone che amiamo sono in entrambi i luoghi, e per questo, come coppia, saremo per sempre #SemiSalted.
