We met like a lot of folks do these days, online. How? Via Coffee Meets Bagel. We both agree that the reason we were on this particular app is because we were looking for something more "serious". We started off pretty sarcastic, making jokes, poking fun and just testing the water. I tried to impress Frankie with my sports knowledge and Frankie just tried to make me laugh. After a week of chatting, the app gave us the ultimatum to move on or share our personal numbers. Towards the end I made jokes about talking until the app timer went off but Frankie told me he would be in a movie when that happened so I sent him a text saying “I guess I will be alone when the world ends”. He laughed. Either way I sent him my number first and we kept the conversation going via text. About a week later we both agreed to meet up. I suggested Ramen, Frankie thought this was because he was Asian... it wasn't... I just like Ramen. On our first date Susi was running late because she couldn't find the perfect scarf for her outfit, or so she told me. In the meantime I prepaid the meal... i know, very very smooth... she still talks about it to this day. By the end of the meal I wasn’t ready for the night to end so I invited her to see “San Andreas" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Terrible movie but the experience was worth it. This has become our tradition every May: “Rock n' Ramen Day”. If you know us you have seen us turn random moments into traditions. We hope to continue doing that in the next stage of our lives. It has taken us longer than we would like to get here. Our life together has pushed us in many different directions, it has tested us and blessed us as well. While we have managed to build an amazing life together this piece never seemed to come to fruition. But after 3 years of hoping, 3 years of praying, 3 years of struggle, we are here. Doing this for ourselves and celebrating with you. I guess we wont be alone when the world ends.
