Brad and I went to lunch here on our 3rd date before he surprised me with a trip to the Antique Rose Emporium
One of the other great BBQ stops in Brenham - a close second to the one we chose for the reception dinner. Be prepared to stand in line!
Well obviously.
Obviously you're going to see it, but if you want to shop come earlier in the day when the nursery is open. They have an amazing assortment of roses and perennials as well as several beautiful demo gardens.
Stop by for some traditional Czech and delicious kolaches and pigs (meat kolaches). La Grange is the main one but there are locations in Carmine and Brenham also.
The farm and gift shop are open to the public on weekends, from March through November. Bring a picnic and stroll the fields, shop at the Lavender Patch. Wheelchair accessible. Admission is free.
Susanne's favorite art event of the year- planning the wedding the same weekend was not on purpose and she'd love for you to go in her lieu! The Texas Clay Festival runs October 26th (10am-6pm) and 27th (10am-5pm) and is located in New Braunfels, TX. About 2 & 1/2 hours from the wedding venue (126 miles).
Cute little brewery with outdoor seating and many beer choices.
One of Susanne's favorite past times - floating the river in the hill country. If you'll be around for an extra afternoon, this is highly recommended.
A fun place to look at antiques, though the main biannual festival is over, it's still a nice drive and some shops are open.
Chappell Hill Sausage Company has a restaurant and retail shop. Open Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM and on Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM.
