Wedding Party

Matt Logan

Best Man

Matt is a photographer and musician based in NYC. He has known Tristan since middle school, when they became fast companions through their common interests - including music, history, the pursuit of knowledge, and creative endeavors. Deeper friendship grew from there, and he is honored to be a part of Tristan's marriage to Susannah.

Megan Yancy

Matron of Honor

Cousin of the bride, Megan lives in Austin with her husband Rem, two cats, and a dog. Megan works for the city of Austin as a Geospatial analyst, and in her spare time she enjoys sailing, knitting, and crocheting. She even spins her own yarn! She holds a post-graduate certificate in artificial intelligence, and she and Susannah have been getting into trouble together for their entire lives. She is also a much more attentive and involved MOH than Susannah was for her years ago, for which she has Susannah's immense gratitude.

Heather Bousquet

Bridesmaid

Sister of the groom and mother of the junior bridesmaids and flower girl, Heather lives in Holland, MA with her husband Ryan, three daughters, and two dogs. She teaches high school early education and care career technical education, working with students who are interested in pursuing careers in pediatrics/education. When she is not working, she spends much of her time driving her children to their various activities, but she also plays a mean game of Scrabble.

Ryan Bousquet

Groomsman

Brother-in-law of the groom and father of the junior bridesmaids and flower girl, Ryan is a middle school AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) teacher who lives in Holland, MA with his lovely wife Heather, their three daughters, and two dogs. He loves sports, and can always be counted on to answer Susannah's basic questions about them without judgment.

Natty Brower

Groomsman

Brother of the bride and father of one of the ring bearers, Natty is a lawyer who lives in DC with his lovely wife Jane and their son Beck. Natty is a sports aficionado, unlike his siblings, but he had also read the complete works of Tolkien by approximately age 9, so he is very well-rounded. He is also a great musician, and was particularly skilled on the cello in his day. His wife Jane is a gifted artist (her painting of Sam and Hobbes is one of Susannah's prized possessions), so there is lots of talent in the Brower-Wu household.

Ben Brower

Groomsman

Brother of the bride and father of one of the ring bearers, Ben is an engineer who lives in Albany with his lovely wife Caitlin, their son Louis, three dogs, and a cat. Ben is probably the biggest Trekkie in attendance at this wedding, although not the only one. Ben is an avid woodworker and has helped Susannah with numerous household projects. He and Caitlin are heavily involved in dog sports, and their dog Maida is the 10th fastest dog in the country! Caitlin also is a fantastic party/event organizer, and she can read tarot cards, so the Brower-Monjeau household is always a lot of fun.

Elissa Dragoni

Bridesmaid

Friend and colleague of the bride, Elissa lives in Albany with her husband Mark, their daughter, and three dogs. She teaches World History and AP Comparative Government at Albany Academy. Originally from LA, Elissa holds a PhD in history from Syracuse University. She and Susannah share a love of musical theater, and although she is up for anything (last summer she had tickets to Carmina Burana at SPAC, and generously invited Susannah and Tristan to join her), Elissa's guilty pleasure is going to Taylor Swift concerts.

Kellie Gorton

Bridesmaid

Friend and colleague of the bride, Kellie lives in Albany with her husband Brent, their two daughters, and their cat. She is the Chinese teacher at Albany Academy, and used to live in Shanghai. This year Kellie organized and led an amazing school trip to China. She also plays the bass in a band! Before she was a Chinese teacher, she worked at Spectrum and knows a lot about cinema. Kellie's husband (and bandmate) Brent is also a DJ, and has volunteered to DJ this wedding, for which Susannah and Tristan are incredibly grateful.

Kathryn Kleppinger

Bridesmaid

College friend of the bride, Kathryn lives in DC with her husband Sylvester and their two children. She is a professor of French at George Washington University, and she plays both the violin and the cello. She and Susannah had many fun moments together in the Bryn Mawr/Haverford College orchestra. She and Susannah also spent a year in France after college teaching English, traveling around Europe, and navigating French bureaucracy together, and they are both stronger for it. Kathryn measures the eras of her life by the music of the moment, and is the reason that Susannah is as well versed as she is in pop music from 2000-2004.

Rae Muhlstock

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride, Rae lives in Albany with her husband Dan and their cat Kara. She is a professor at SUNY Albany and studies many things, in particular the reception of the myth of the labyrinth. Susannah and Rae met because Rae needed to learn Latin for her research, and Susannah is always up to teach someone Latin. They became friends immediately, bonding over their shared love of cats. Rae and Tristan have very similar tastes in cinema, so during get-togethers they converse about Czech art films while Susannah tries to shift the conversation to movies like Jurassic Park. Rae is also one of Sam the Cat's favorite people, and has spent many hours trapped because he won't leave her lap.

Beth Watkins

Bridesmaid

Grad school friend and longtime roommate of the bride, Beth lives in New Orleans with her two cats Phoebe and Wren, where she is a professor of English at Loyola University. She specializes in medieval English literature, specifically romance. There are too many interesting Beth facts to list here, but one that does need to be mentioned is that she discovered the musical Hamilton before it was famous, and convinced Susannah to go see it before it was even on Broadway. She also loves a good Zelda game. She and Susannah have gone on several fantastic trips together, and Beth's late cat Al was best friend to both Sam and Hobbes.

Emmy Bousquet

Junior Bridesmaid

Niece of the groom, Emmy lives in Holland, MA with her parents, younger sisters, and dogs. Emmy is a talented dancer and athlete, and when she is not in school, she spends most of her time either dancing or playing field hockey.

Ana Bousquet

Junior Bridesmaid

Niece of the groom, Ana lives in Holland, MA with her parents, sisters, and dogs. She loves sports, and in her free time she enjoys playing soccer and basketball. She also likes to read and can often be found with a book.

Briella Bousquet

Flower Girl

Niece of the groom, Briella lives in Holland, MA with her parents, sisters, and dogs. Briella has a wide range of interests. She currently plays soccer, softball, and basketball, but she also loves to dance.

Beck Brower

Ring Bearer

Nephew of the bride, Beck lives in DC with his parents. When he is not bearing rings, his interests include the playground, Elmo, bubbles, books, and pork. Last time Susannah saw him, he also really enjoyed being flipped upside-down.

Louis Monjeau-Brower

Ring Bearer

Nephew of the bride, Louis lives in Albany with his parents, dogs, and cat. Louis has many passions, including pressing buttons, clapping, and touching cats. Sam the Cat's passion is allowing toddlers to grab him, so Louis's visits always go well.

Rena Brower

Mother of the Bride

Rena lives in Camillus, NY with her husband David, their dog Ajax, and their cat Carmella. Originally from Somers, she moved to Albany for college, majoring in Russian at SUNY. She studied abroad in Soviet Moscow in the '70s, so she has many fascinating stories to tell! Rena and David met in Albany while studying Russian, so it's funny that two of their children wound up in Albany despite growing up in Syracuse. She works at Maxwell Memorial Library, and in her spare time she loves cooking (especially Italian food) and baking (especially bread). She has a massive collection of cookbooks that Tristan always peruses on visits to Camillus. Rena's other interests include herb gardening, reading, wine, cats, and Ajax, the resident Doberman.

David Brower

Father of the Bride

David lives in Camillus, NY with his wife Rena, their dog Ajax, and their cat Carmella. Happily retired from running the bookshop at SUNY Cortland, he has filled his time with household projects and has been busy landscaping the yard with Ajax at his side. He misses his motorcycle touring days, but loves being able to spend the day planting vegetables, tinkering in his workshop, reading, and listening to music. He has always been very handy, and his help was indispensable in completing all of Susannah's favorite home improvement projects in her own house (especially the catio!) He and Rena are overjoyed that all three of their amazing children have found the loves of their lives, as they did. Treasure every moment!

Sandy Lowery

Mother of the Groom

Sandy is Tristan's mother and lives in Albany with Tristan's father, Mark. She attended nursing school in her hometown of Lancaster, PA and met Mark at Franklin and Marshall College while working her way through nursing school in the college cafeteria. Sandy retired from hospital nursing in June 2024 after 48 years as a registered nurse, most recently at St. Peter's Hospital. After retiring from hospital nursing, she became treasurer of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and works as a nurse consultant to the Head Start program. She also sings in the church choir, along with Mark and Tristan. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family camping, hiking, birding, and working on her numerous crafts.

Mark Lowery

Father of the Groom

Tristan’s father, Mark, worked at various positions with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for 37 years, retiring as assistant director of DEC’s Office of Climate Change in 2024. In retirement he has kept busy as one of St. Paul’s churchwardens, maintaining his large gardens and catching up on deferred maintenance at their home. He looks forward to having more time to fish, hunt, hike and camp and is considering how to best use his time and expertise to continue advocating for action to address the climate crisis. He and Sandy could not be happier that Tristan and Susannah have found each other and pray that their marriage will far outlast their own marriage of 48 years (so far).
