Announcement

Due to the pandemic and to ensure the health and safety of our loved ones, we have moved our wedding date to July 2, 2022. We held a small ceremony on our original wedding date in the backyard with just our nuclear families. The ceremony was special, intimate, and joyous! We plan to celebrate and share our love with all of our friends and family this year. We hope you can attend, and cannot wait to see you all in-person!

How We Met

Susan and Paul first met during their senior year at UC Davis while attending a mutual friend’s study group. Susan immediately caught Paul’s eye and he planted himself at the table next to her so that they could study together. They hit it off and spent the entire night joking and laughing together while they motivated each other through the study material. This was the beginning of a friendship, and by the summer of 2011 Paul knew that they had the potential to be something more. After a few months of relentless pursuit, Susan finally agreed to a real date with Paul in the fall of 2011. In November of that year, at a particularly romantic parking lot in downtown Davis, they agreed to make their relationship official. Over the next four years, Paul and Susan served as each other’s rocks while they figured out their places in the adult world, all while traveling the country and world as much as they could to create lasting memories together. A real turning point in their relationship came in 2015 when Paul moved to New York to pursue a Master’s degree. After a year of dating at a distance, they decided that it was time to put their relationship to its final test by moving in together, and it was this move that made them certain they were destined to spend their lives together. They found that their lives seamlessly integrated together; your and my goals became our goals, your and my responsibilities became our responsibilities, and perhaps most importantly, Susan’s dog Otis became our dog Otis.

The Proposal

After seven years together and a lot of patience from Susan, Paul finally proposed in the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna on November 20, 2018. After opting for a long engagement so they could continue to travel the world and enjoy their life together in New York, Susan and Paul are excited to finally be be back in California to celebrate their wedding with their loved ones.
