I was a freshman and Nathan was a junior. One day in the beginning of the school year, we were connected by a mutual friend. We started to get to know each other by passing little notes (yes, the cutie neat folded ones which I still happen to have) in the hallways. On September 23, 2000, we decided to be "boyfriend and girlfriend." Like other young couples, we held hands in the hallways and spent as much time after school as we could. Fast forward to January 23, 2011 (nearly 9 years after we parted ways in high school) when I received a notification that read: "Nathan Fallon wants to be friends with you on Facebook." I thought, "Interesting... I had not heard from him since he graduated high school in 2002 and I knew that he had searched for me because I was one of his first Facebook friends." I let the invite pend for a few days before accepting. It wasn't until that April that he sent me a private message hoping I was doing well and wishing me a quick recovery (I had just had surgery on my wrist after a snowboarding accident). We decided to get together so I invited him to join myself and a few friends at a beer fest in Worcester. I hadn't seen him or spoke to him in so long, therefore I thought a casual group event would be a great ice breaker. After the event he took me to get ice cream and play indoor mini golf. It was cute but clearly he turned this into an unexpected date! We both expressed how time and time again, between 2002 and 2011 we had thought about the other. Thankfully when we reconnected in 2011 we were both in points in our lives to begin building what will turn into a lifetime together.
