We would like our guests to be inspired by wildflowers and summer. This would include cute floral dresses for the ladies and light suits or suit jackets for the gentlemen. Please do not wear jeans. All events will be indoors, but pictures will be taken at the ceremony site, so be aware that you may have to walk on grass.
We have decided to celebrate our day with you and not to register for gifts. We wish for your blessings and good luck as we start our lives as Mr. & Mrs. Hamblen. If you are inclined, please donate to a charity of your choice.
The ceremony starts at 2pm, precisely, so we ask that guests arrive at 1:30. The entrance with the ramp will be closed at 1:45, due to the altar's location. You may use the main entrance with the granite stairs until 1:45, then you will not be able to enter. Please be aware that there is no food or drink allowed inside the Meetinghouse, as it is a historical site. (Even if someone hands you a drink, please wait until you are outside to drink it.....)
The Meetinghouse has parking along the dirt road or in the grass in front. We will have special parking closer to the entrance to allow those with mobility issues. Please be respectful of that. The VFW has a large parking lot in front of the building, and the entrance is located at the front. There are limited handicap spaces out front. Please do not park along the front of the building to be respectful of those with preferred parking. The traffic around the building is one-way only, so please do not block either side of the building for members.
We would like to know any food allergies as soon as possible. The caterer is aware of nut, shellfish, and mushroom allergies and will not be using them in any of their dishes. The caterer uses locally sourced foods, and there are quite a few selections that are gluten-free. If you are vegetarian or vegan, we will have special main entree provided, but we will need advanced notice. If you do not give advanced notice, you will not be able to get the vegan option on the day of the reception.
We will not be providing transportation for the ceremony and reception. Uber is available in Jaffrey, but please be aware that there may be limited access. It may be wise to book Uber in advance.
Get ready for an open bar—all drinks are on the happy couple! Tipping the bartenders is highly encouraged!!! There is an independent ATM located near the bar; however, please keep in mind that it may charge transaction fees.
To allow all of our guests to relax and enjoy the day, we have chosen to make our wedding day an adults-only occasion. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and look forward to celebrating with you!
We ask that all mobile devices be silenced and put away during our ceremony. Our amazing photographer, Will, will be taking pictures from various angles and cameras, so we ask that no mobile devices be visible during the ceremony. We will make all photos from the ceremony available as soon as possible. You are free to take as many pictures as you want before and after the ceremony. We also will make available a QR code that allows you to upload and view other guests photos or videos during the reception. Please share all your memories with us, we appreciate it!
