Although Susan and Sammy don't go too far back, their friendship has grown exponentially over the past 5 years. Their bond blossomed the night of the first annual "Ain't no Party like a Tang Party" when Susan nursed Sam to health after succumbing to Duy's heavy pour LOL Now, they are always there for and support each other on the daily. From random self invites to each other homes, fun workouts at Orangtheory, and crafty projects, these chicas have fun doing everything together!
Jonathan McGee
Best Man
Duy and Jon have been friends since freshmen year of college. As both Computer Engineering majors and leaders in the UMBC IEEE Student Association, Duy and Jon spent a lot of time hanging out inside and outside of the classroom. Duy and Jon bonded over their shared interests in Marvel, electronics, and Duy's ability to always stress Jon out. Jon was one of the first friends that he introduced Susan to and was the inspiration for her name "Shoeshine".
Brianna Smith

Susan and Brianna go back as far as 2010, in high school. Befriended through Deepika, Brianna and Susan spent many days hanging out after school. Brianna even followed Susan to UMBC to join the Meyerhoff Program and eventually head to UF in Gainesville to complete her PhD. Brianna welcomed a baby boy, Cai, in August 2021 Susan knows she is the best mommy he could ask for! Susan is so proud of Brianna and all of her accomplishments. She is so excited to have Brianna stand by her side on this big day!
David Muzzey

David and Duy met at the end of college but became great friends soon afterwards. An avid fan of puns and the receiving end of many jokes, David has a great sense of humor. In their free time, David and Duy enjoy their interest in League of Legends and love of meats and cheese.
Deepika Chona

Deepika was the first friend Susan made when she moved to a new high school sophomore year. She was a freshman at the time, quiet and timid on the outside, but actually equally as crazy as Susan on the inside LOL They've been besties ever since that day at lunch Deepika came to sit with Susan:) Deepika also followed Susan to UMBC and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Susan is very proud of her accomplishments. Susan stood next to Deepika when she got married in September 2021, and now she is so excited to have Deepika stand next to her on her day!
Ryan Wyatt

Ryan was the second friend Duy made in college. Meeting at the commuter retreat before their first year at UMBC, Duy and Ryan joined forces (and their hands) to solve the tight rope challenge in an obstacle course, and they have been friends ever since. They bonded over their enjoyment of games, tv shows, and working out. Ryan and Duy lived together during their last 2 years at UMBC, along with Chris Paul and Ryan Jose.
Sarah Blasher

Sarah is Susan's younger cousin. Although they may have had their differences growing up (HA "Evil Dora"), they have gotten so much closer ever since Sarah initially moved to the east coast after graduating from WashU. Since then, they have visited each other whenever possible, and even vacationed to Walt Disney World together. Sarah is very active and enjoys working out as well as training/running marathons. Susan is very proud of her accomplishments so far and can't wait to see what she does next, maybe with Susan next time;) Susan is beyond excited to have Sarah stand by her on this big day!
Chris Paul

Chris is probably one of the most kind and easy going people Duy has ever met. Meeting in sophomore year at UMBC and spending over 30 hours together at a hackathon, Duy and Chris became good friends and ended up being housemates their Junior year. They enjoy hanging out and sharing their new food and travel experiences with each other.
Jamie Franzoni

Jamie is also what Susan would consider a sister. They have lived together, worked out together, danced together, vacationed together, gossiped together. Jamie is such a funny person to be around, especially when watching/quoting Emperor's New Groove. Jamie is the best mother to Jack and Lincoln. Susan was honored to stand by Jamie's side back in June 2019, and so excited to now have Jamie stand by her side on her big day!
Ryan Jose

Duy and Ryan met at orientation before starting at UMBC. As roommates, Computer Engineering students, and very avid procrastinators, Duy and Ryan spent a lot of late nights together on working projects, studying, and as a consequence, waking each other up early in the morning for their class the next day.
Sarah Ginsburg

Sarah is what Susan would consider her sister. They share many common interests, including but not limited to Korean food, games, love for Harry Potter, and generally joking around. There are so many inside jokes that most people have no idea what we are laughing about half the time. Sarah finished her enlistment with the Air Force in 2021 and now studies food science. She is always making everyone laugh and is fun to be around. Susan is beyond excited having Sarah join her at the altar.
Matthew Nickell

Duy and Matthew's relationship dates back to November 2014 when Duy and Susan first started dating. They got along instantaneously going back and forth with nerd talk, especially their adventures with Pokémon Go! They would have fun together in family gatherings and continued to become better friends. Duy is honored to have Matthew stand as one of his groomsmen.
Joey Ichniowski
Reverend
Joey and Duy have been friends since elementary school. Bonding over all things nerdy, they spent many summers of their childhood playing video games and hanging out. Joey was one of the first people to be introduced to Susan when they started dating and they are honored to have Joey officiate their wedding.
