They say opposites attract and that is very much the case with this couple. Susan is adventurous, talkative, and a dog lover. Austin is more reserved, nerdy, and loves cats. In December of 2019, a software engineer met a sweet and beautiful nanny online. Due to their busy schedules they were unable to meet but talked every day from the end of November to the end of December. The two of them were lucky enough to briefly meet on New Year's Eve. Shortly after meeting, they had their first date at Parkside 23 in Brookfield. Austin talked almost the entire time because he was so nervous. He really liked Susan and wanted to see her as soon as he could after that date. Susan and Austin went on many dates up until Covid-19 hit the United States. Early on in the relationship, the world drastically changed around them with Covid. It was tough just starting to date with a pandemic. They were able to see each other over video calls and talk everyday. When they were finally able to get outside, a lot of things were still closed. They had to get creative with date ideas. They played basketball and soccer at Austin's old elementary school, put puzzles together, painted, and cooked meals. Covid forced them to think outside the box by doing things they normally wouldn’t have done. Throughout the year that they dated, their relationship blossomed into something extraordinary. Susan and Austin loved hiking at state parks, going to Chicago, and finding new cities to tour. They also shared one big thing in common which is their love for food. This shared passion has taken them from city to city, exploring, and tasting together.

Austin and Susan became inseparable after spending so much quality time together. There was no doubt in Austin's mind that he had found his person. On February 14th, 2021 Austin took Susan up to The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin for the day. He chose this location because of the resort's beautiful courtyards. He also remembered her love for gazebos and how she thought they were very romantic and the American Club has a perfect gazebo there. He took her out to a gazebo in one of the courtyards on the coldest day of the year (she was not thrilled about this). Little did she know he was about to give her the surprise of her life. Austin had created a scrapbook that contained pictures, tickets, receipts, and various items from their relationship throughout the year. At the end of the scrapbook it contained a heart shaped lock. When Susan got to that last page Austin proceeded to get down on one knee and said “In order to unlock our future together you’ll need this key.” He pulled out the ring and asked Susan to marry him. She of course said “YES!!” And the rest, as they say, is history. They are so excited to start the next phase of their lives together and can't wait to celebrate with you.
