A 24min drive from Ixtapan, is a labyrinth-type cavern whose formation has taken millions of years, where water filtration, in contact with rocks and minerals, formed stalagmites, whose growth is one centimeter every fifty years. The journey through the interior takes approximately 45 minutes, covering 950 metres in length, divided into seven halls.
70km away from Ixtapan is a small village, not to be missed, set in an area surrounded by large mountains, thanks to the intense exploitation of its silver deposits. People still live from the trade and manufacture of objects that the precious metal allows. Full of lovely baroque constructions erected during the mining boom are still preserved
