On January 19, 2017, after many swipes, we finally got it right. Online dating was the one thing that we had in common. Chris had just moved from Northern California and Susana was just another LA girl. After a brief phone chat, we met two days later on a rainy Saturday afternoon to discover that we were total opposites. However, four hours of conversation convinced us to give each other a chance. We knew that faith had brought us together, and the chance to get to know each other was a leap that we both agreed to take.
Chris: After months of planning, it was finally time to "pop the question". I made a plan with her niece to sneakily video the proposal. As we were getting ready to leave for church, I pulled the ring out and got down on one knee. Susana turned and saw her niece with her camera out and said "You tricked me!" while nervously laughing. I asked her to marry me, and after asking me why I was on the ground, she said "Yes!" Being on my knee, I was the perfect height for the kiss that started this part of our journey together. Susana: As I was walking out of the house for Sunday service, I turned around and see Chris on one knee and had no idea what he was doing. He teared up and had a beautiful ring, and with his soft voice trying to hide his nervousness, he asked, "Will you marry me?". While laughing hysterically and repeatedly asking him to stand up, I, of course, said, "YES! YES! I want to marry you!".
