As how many modern relationships go, this one too started online. We matched on Coffee Meets Bagel. We had so many things in common, it was eerily creepy! From our music choices to our passion to be fit. From being computer vision engineers to being organizational freaks. There were way too many coincidences. When we started chatting we realized we had found an amazing friend in each other and met almost immediately. As great as the first meeting went, Pulkit was flying to India the next day. In the next 21 days, we talked on US time and India time, while we were at work and at a friend's wedding, every waking and sleeping moment. We quickly realized that this was far from the ideal partner we had imagined. Far better. We both were counting minutes and seconds to Feb 5th when Pulkit would get back and we could put a formal seal on this! Things moved very fast from that day on. At the end of August, we had plans to visit our friends in Seattle. The timing and the setting of the trip made it the perfect opportunity for me to propose to Surbhi. Given our penchant to be adventurous and playful, I decided to propose in an escape room. We went to the escape room with some of our close friends with Surbhi completely unaware of my ulterior motive. As we entered, my friend inconspicuously handed over the ring box to the organizers. We started solving the puzzles and quickly got lost in the mystery. As we were getting closer to the finish, my heart rate started climbing and so did my nervousness. The mystery ended, we had found the green dragon. But that was not the end. The room became dark and out popped a ring box from the cupboard. Surbhi went to retrieve the box, all confused. I kneeled down behind her with the ring in my hand and waited for her to turn around. She opened the box and turned around with a smile on her face that made me completely forget the speech I had prepared. I said a few lines from my heart, asked her the question, and she immediately said yes! - Pulkit
