We met each other while attending Regis University in August 2019. John had just joined the work study that Jordan was a part of and he was introduced to her through a friend as his manager. About a week later, that same friend and John were walking across the quad before they got screamed at by Jordan to join her club's all-you-can-eat sushi night. From that event and on, we started talking more and getting to know each other simply as friends, while everyone else was insinuating that we should date. The chatting became more frequent, we started working out together, and just hanging out as friends. Fast forward to February 2020, we had a nice conversation at Regis' Pub about what this relationship is before John awkwardly and officially asked Jordan to be his girlfriend. After the assault of "I knew it!" and "I told you so!"s from our friends, we can proudly say that we have been together for over 6 years. We got engaged in July 2024 in Steamboat Springs. John had planned a nice getaway with the help of his unassuming, soon-to-be fiancée. We got Jordan's nails done, picked out a nice outfit, and John had gotten her to book the dinner reservation and stay, while he planned the rest. John had sneakily been prepping Jordan for the moment, without her knowledge, by going on multiple hikes together and photographing the hikes, so as not to arouse suspicion for "The Grand Hike." John had made a cute Lego ring box in her house colors (Gryffindor, obviously) and kept it in his pocket the entire morning before the proposal. On the 30-minute drive to Rabbit Ears Peak Trail, Jordan's hand was casually resting on the ring box in John's pocket, completely oblivious to what awaited her. At the peak of the trail, the planets aligned and the universe made it perfect. The wind died away, no one was present at the peak or around us; it was like the world paused just for us. John proposed and nearly fell off the edge of the cliff that his best friend had pre-warned him about, and of course, she said yes. After many nerdy rants, expensive Renaissance Faire escapades, and our endless travels with poly-jamorous music, the fun and crazy journey continues on.
