What should I wear?

Answer

You should wear what you are most comfortable wearing! They can be Indian but they do not have to be. Be prepared to be outside and moving around in them.

Can I change between the wedding ceremony and the reception?

Answer

Sure! We will have a designated changing area in the Porter's house. Feel free to wear the same outfit all day. We will!

What's the deal with gifts?

Answer

Your presence is our gift! If you really want to give us a gift then please check out our registry where you can donate to our favorite organizations or contribute to our life fund! No boxed gifts please.

A Baraat is a Groom's Procession. This is a part of many Indian weddings where the groom's family and friends dance into the ceremony. Check out Wikipedia for more information.

Mehndi is the application of henna, a plant-based paste used to create Indian designs on hands for weddings or other ceremonial events.

Answer

Garba is a form of Indian dance specific to Gujarat, a state in India. It is a group dance where everyone follows the same steps and moves in a circle. We recommend searching Garba on YouTube if you want to get inspired!

What is Square Dancing?

Square Dancing is a traditional American group dance style involving eight people dancing in a circle. Another similar folk dance is called Contra Dancing, in which dancing happens in a line instead of a circle. We encourage you to search for Square Dancing and Contra Dancing on YouTube for inspiration!

Is there a Open Bar

Answer

Yes! On Saturday there will be an open bar with beer, wine and 2 specialty cocktails (Moscow Mule and a Margarita). Please bring cash to tip our bartenders. On Friday we will also be serving beer and wine

Yes! We will have Iced Tea, Lemonade, Soda. You can also get our Moscow Mule virgin!
