Mallika Hicks

Maid of Honor

I first met Sunisa in 2012 when we both applied for the same jobs — funny enough, she got the position I wanted, and I got the one she applied for! From that moment on, we became the best of friends. I’m so happy and proud to see her with someone as wonderful as John. They’re truly a perfect match, and I can’t wait to celebrate their special day. I know it’s going to be an unforgettable wedding, and I’m beyond excited to stand by their side!

Tricia Tsui

Bridesmaid

I’ve known Sunisa since 2019, but it feels like I’ve known her my whole life. From the moment we met, we instantly bonded over our love language- food & cooking- and that bond has only grown stronger over the years. These days, you can catch us belly laughing with each other, matcha or boba in hand, and debating on whether or not 2 dinners would be excessive. Words can’t fully describe how excited I am to stand by her side, celebrate their love, and witness this beautiful new chapter in their lives. It’s going to be such an unforgettable trip and an even more incredible wedding!!

Ammy Johnson

Bridesmaid

I met Sunisa in 2013 when I took over her job at Banyan tree Hotel. She trained me for a couple of weeks, and we quickly became friends. We hit it off so well that we started hanging out outside of work and have stayed close ever since, even after moving across the world. Sunisa is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I know, and she feels like a sister to me. I’m beyond happy that she’s marrying John! My husband and I spent a week with them in Colorado, and it was so clear how much they love and support each other. They’re a perfect match, and we couldn’t be happier for them. No matter where life takes them, they can always count on us.

Chadwick Casper

Best Man

I met John in 2016, just as I was setting my sights on San Francisco, I didn't know at the time, but he’d become my running partner, flat mate, and a friend who feels like family. From getting lost on trails in Redwood Regional Park to 3D-printing drink dispenser nozzles for my parties, our friendship has been full of adventure and tinkering. We moved in together in 2019, and soon after, he introduced a mysterious and impressive runner—Sunisa. Over time, she became a welcome flat mate. And through a global pandemic, I watched two incredibly generous people grow in love. I couldn’t be happier to celebrate the start of their next chapter.

Groomsman

John was my first roommate in San Francisco, where we shared a modest living room back in 2016. I fondly recall our late-night, 2 AM conversations about our life dreams and the different worlds we each grew up in. During those days, John would show up to parties handsomely dressed with large pizzas in hand, ensuring everyone was happily fed. He also once solo-assembled my bunk bed without saying a word—showing me his caring friendship and his brilliant engineering mindset! As he once celebrated me for finding my “North Star,” I am so happy to celebrate him finding his in Sunisa. Cheers to a happy married life, my friend!

Groomsman

Being a groomsman on this memorable day honors my close friend John, whom I have known since our time at Southern Vance High School. Our friendship grew in homeroom and classes, including Spanish and Chemistry. Over time, we have had many arguments and discussions without losing our bond. Our incredible train journey from North Carolina to New York City, where we embraced a blizzard but still ventured out to enjoy Broadway, watch a stand-up comedy show, be part of a music video, and relish delicious Ramen—which has since become a favorite of mine, thanks, John—is among my best recollections. I treasure our lifetime friendship and look forward to commemorating this wonderful day and the fresh adventure that awaits his bride and him.

Officiant

I’ve had the utmost joy of watching John and Sunisa’s relationship tip off and rev up in the last 6 years. They’re both incredibly positive people, each passionate and dedicated in their own way. Sunisa, a verified superb chef, is equally enthusiastic about currying at home—much to my benefit—as she is about taking shots on new restaurants; John, a perpetual tinkerer and lifelong learner like me, is always driving the conversation about whatever gets his wheels turning. It’s an absolute honor to be officiating their wedding, and I look forward to celebrating their next chapters together.
