It all started in 2022 at Biola University. It was Daniel’s very first day as a Campus Safety officer, and Sunny, a student cadet, was the one tasked with showing him the ropes. In reality, that meant Daniel spent his first shift mostly just following Sunny around. But between patrols and easy conversation, what started as a professional walkthrough quickly turned into a friendship, or so they thought. As they spent more time together, they realized they shared a love for the same things: spontaneous adventures, exploring new coffee shops, and running (yes, the kind where you actually break a sweat). Whether Daniel was on the soccer field or Sunny was on the sidelines cheering him on, they became each other's biggest fans. When Daniel was about to transition into a new job, he decided to take a leap of faith and tell Sunny how he felt. Sunny’s initial reaction? Pure panic. At the time, she was strictly following the advice of her friends to avoid the "4 Ps" (if you know, you know!). Thankfully, panic turned into perspective. After three months of thinking and a few deep conversations, Sunny realized what and who she really wanted. She finally said yes. Since that first shift at Biola, our lives have been one big adventure. We’ve traveled across the world to visit Sunny’s family in China, hiked through the desert of Joshua Tree, and even found ourselves feeding alpacas in the mountains. We’ve realized that no matter where we go or what we’re doing, we’re just happy to be doing it together. We are so excited to start this next chapter and can’t wait to celebrate with you all!
