Our first date was not ideal... it was on April Fool's Day, there were tornadoes and bad storms, I was under dressed for the restaurant he took me to, and I was on crutches from a broken foot. Everything leading up to the date was pointing to it being a disaster, but I went anyways (mostly just because I was really hungry and a girl's gotta eat.) Half way through the night I remember thinking how much my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much. I couldn't remember the last time I smiled like that. There was an instant connection between us and since that night we have been inseparable.
The bible says that marriage is two becoming one. When Wes and I become husband and wife we are marrying more then just each other, we are joining families as well. As you all know, we have children from previous relationships. Over the past three and a half years we have opened our hearts and learned how to be a blended family which is no easy task. I have watched each person grow tremendously as individuals and I've watched the love grow between each of us. Our family of five means everything to us and we strive everyday to breed love and trust within it. As a symbol of joining our family as one we have incorporated our children into the wedding; our oldest will be by his dad's side as the best man, our middle boy will walk me down the isle and our daughter will be the flower girl.
