Summer & I have known each other for a long time, and a long portion of that was as “my momma’s best friends kid”. She always tells me she had such a crush on me when we were younger, and that she always knew we were meant to be. Our lives took a winding road of good & bad, searching all over for what we thought we wanted, when in reality it was right here close to home the whole time. I remember Summer saying when she heard I was moving home she told Tina, “He’s coming home for me”. It didn’t take long after getting back to find out how right she was. We were friends at first, and then it just kept feeling right to be next to her. Early on when we first started dating, she told me that while I was asleep I told her “I love you” and once I got done being embarrassed, I decided that maybe my subconscious was onto something. I never really understood what the ‘right one’ meant until I knew Summer, and I ask myself every day what did I do to be so lucky to have her. I knew when I got down on one knee and felt no nerves whatsoever, just pure excitement to ask this beautiful girl to share her life with me, that this was true love.
I’ve loved Andrew Villa for as long as I can remember. I only really knew him as mom’s best friend’s son, but he came to visit me in the hospital one day during my cancer treatment and roamed the hospital with me. He said the elevator smelled like cinnamon and a fart, or a cinnapoot if you will. So obviously my mom called him Cinnapoot for ages. That was the only context in which I knew this boy for years, but I loved him. Then in high school he was funny and older than me, so obviously I still loved him. One day years later, my mom called to tell me about Tracy’s dad passing away and it stopped me in my tracks. I hadn’t spoken to Andrew since we were kids, but I cried at the thought of him being alone on the flight home to the states. Soon after he decided to move home and showed up to my families fish fry. We talked about cole slaw for a half hour and I was late to work just so I could stand there and talk to him longer. He told me I was funny and that I committed to the bit well, and I decided that was all I needed to hear. I tweeted what he said and that I was going to marry him (no name just a subtweet) and my mom told me I was insane and “way too wild for a guy like Drew” LOL After that day we were instant friends and when he started tattooing I let him practice his skills on me too. The friends to lovers thing happened pretty quickly after that, and the rest is history! I wish someone could go back in time to tell little Summer she was absolutely right, but that loving Andrew Villa is even better than she ever could have imagined! “and isn’t it just so pretty to think, all along there was some invisible string tying you to me”
