Summer and Robbie met during a wine tour in Virginia six years ago, where they locked eyes and had a deep conversation over a cheap bottle of wine. They both felt a strong connection towards each other but Robbie tried to play it cool. He finally mustered up the courage to ask Summer on a date a few weeks later. They were both young and living their best lives so they decided to stay friends for the time being. You know how people say "timing is everything", well that statement couldn't have been more accurate when describing their relationship. About three years after their first date, Summer ran into Robbie on a cold January day while out grabbing lunch at Sweetgreen. Coincidence? TBD on that one. Again the connection was there, they ate lunch together and grabbed coffee until Robbie realized he was running late for a work meeting. Despite Robbie's quick goodbye, they kept in touch and the rest is history. PS cheap wine consumption, Sweetgreen and coffee dates are still frequent activities.
Every year Robbie makes a big deal about his birthday. This year was a special occasion, he was turning 30. Summer decided to throw a surprise birthday party and invite friends and family from all over. Little did she know, Robbie had been planning a surprise of his own... It all started 30 minutes prior to the surprise, when Summer was stressed out setting up the birthday party and receives a call to sign for a package. As she jumps off the elevator, she is received with a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a note in Robbie's handwriting that says, "lets add one more stressful task to your evening, how about a scavenger hunt?" Each clue led Summer to a sentimental location in the neighborhood that Robbie and Summer share. The scavenger hunt ended at the LOVE sign in Blagden Alley, Washington D.C. where he was waiting on one knee. Summer's family was hiding in the alley and watched the entire proposal. The scavenger hunt and ending with a proposal couldn't have been more perfect!
