Reagan and Summer met at the Baptist Student Ministry during Summer's sophomore year of college at Texas A&M University-Commerce (Reagan's freshman year) and their initiation as friends began with a Waffle House trip! They grew closer as friends as they actively served alongside each other on mission trips such as Beach Reach and were both a part of the BSM. They were also both a part of the Honors College at Commerce and lived in the same apartment complex where they would hang out frequently. Reagan got to know Summer’s family when he and a friend went to stay with her family in Austin over the summer for a weekend. After that trip, Summer’s mom was ready for the two to get together, but it was not until Summer’s senior year during winter break that they started dating! The rest is history!
Summer and Reagan had talked about getting engaged over winter break so Summer got to be very surprised on this day- Reagan told Summer he had planned for the two of them to go on a double date with his best friend and his “new girlfriend.” Before supposedly meeting up with Reagan's best friend he got a call informing him of a car accident that they got into and therefore could not make the double date (the drama - FYI there was no car accident, nor was there a new girlfriend). So, Summer and Reagan went to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens where Reagan took Summer on top of a bridge and proposed. After Summer said "NO WAY!" a few times (because she was so excited and surprised) she said "Yes" obviously! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Waxahachie!
