The Proposal

10.06.2024

Sunday October 6th started off like any other day. They closed on house a month prior and was in the process of unpacking, cleaning and setting up the house. Summer was having a very stressful time with work and house tasks. Matt was supporting Summer during a busy time by taking time out of his day to comfort her. He suggested they take a day to do something fun since they have been so focused on life and not relaxing. Summer quickly agreed but didn’t have the energy to plan anything. Matt QUICKLY volunteered to set up a nice day of activities that would surely bring a smile to her face. The day began with a restful morning of full sleep with no alarms, an “everything shower” and plenty of time to get ready and catch breakfast before hitting the road. With a pit stop to grab some McDonald’s breakfast, they were off on their first adventure of the day. Jamming to Sleep Token and admiring the drive, they arrived at their first destination, the pumpkin patch… or so it seemed. Turns out Matt received the wrong address and showed up to the pumpkin patch owners house (Haha silly Matt). They swiftly pivoted to a backup patch called Burts Farms and set off. The pumpkin patch was filled with the most beautiful pumpkins Summer had ever seen. They shared a fried pumpkin roll and a pulled pork sandwich, took a hayride through the pumpkin patch and purchased a load of pumpkins. Summer was grinning from ear to ear as Matt loaded the pumpkins in the back of her car, sweat dripping down his neck. Matt would do anything to see her smile. Alas, they traveled to their last stop of the day, Montaluce Winery and Restaurant. As they pulled up to the winery, Summer couldn’t help but admire the beauty of North Georgia. Their evening began with a tour of the facility followed by a private wine tasting. At peak sunset, their guide Bree suggested they go to the 3rd floor terrace to take pictures. As they stood over-looking the beautiful view, Matt knelt down on one knee and asked Summer to marry him. To no ones surprise she said “Y-y-yes I will”!! A perfect ending to the perfect day.
