Joslynn is the kind of person who can make you laugh so hard you forget to breathe. Her smile is bright, contagious, and lights up every room she walks into. She’s caring, kind, and truly beautiful inside and out, to know her is something special. She’s that one friend who will absolutely try to talk you out of making a bad decision, but if that doesn’t work, she’ll sigh, laugh, and be right there doing it with you. That’s her loyalty. She would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. Joslynn is an amazing mother who lives for her children and their happiness, a devoted daughter who cared for her late father until the very end, and an incredible sister and friend who loves fiercely. I am so proud to call her my friend, my sister, and so grateful life brought her into my world.

Stefanie isn’t just my cousin — she’s my little sister, my constant, and a part of my life that has always been steady. She’s literally me, and I’m her, even though I’m older. Beautiful inside and out, she’s a loving daughter and mother, and growing up, where there was me, there was her — and where there was her, there was me. Her mom even called us Salt and Pepper because of how inseparable we were (and well, she clearly got more of the Hispanic side than I did, lol!). Stefanie took our difficult childhood and made it her mission to help kids like us. I remember her as a little girl saying she wanted to be a child psychologist to help kids like me — and she did. She made my childhood so much easier, giving me stability I so desperately needed. Her heart is pure; I can’t recall a single time she was ever mean or hurtful to anyone — and that hasn’t changed today. She’s an incredible mother, wife, and God-fearing woman who lives her faith daily. Even though distance keeps us apart, I know her love is the same as if she were right here with me. I love her just as fiercely, and I’m so grateful that life gave me Stefanie — my cousin, my sister, my forever friend.

My daughter is a one-of-a-kind mix of chaos, heart, and hilarious randomness ❤️. She’s funny, smart, beautiful inside and out, and somehow manages to be both loud and shy at the same time, which keeps me on my toes! She has these ocean-blue eyes full of kindness, and when she does smile (which isn’t always on cue because of her shyness), it’s big, genuine, and lights up everything around her. She has what I call “squirrel moments,” where she says the most random things that make me laugh until my sides hurt. She’s sarcastic like her mama, brilliant academically, and an amazingly talented artist, though she hides it sometimes, which I don’t understand because the world needs to see her gifts. As her mom, I could gush forever because she and her brother are my everything. They saved my life, and without them, there would be no me. I’m so proud to call her my daughter, my joy, my heart, my chaos, and my forever little girl.
